Job summary

The Freudenberg Group in Georgia is seeking an experienced technician to inspect, repair and assemble mechanical seal equipment following drawings and work orders for quality results.

Under limited supervision, you will use micrometers and calipers to verify part specifications, perform basic operations on drill presses and grinders, maintain repair records, and assist newer staff while upholding safety and quality in a high-volume production environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 4 years of mechanical seal equipment experience in refining, petrochemical, chemical, power, or upstream markets.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, etc.
• Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings.

Responsibilities

• Actively supports training and departmental activities and Continuous Improvement.
• Receives and evaluates returned parts to determine repairability.
• Identifies and inspects material returned.
• Determines repair operations and ensures BOM/drawings match.
• Performs simple operations on drill press, tool post grinder, bead blast polisher and lapping machine.
• Verifies part specifications with measuring instruments.
• Maintains records and small inventory of seal parts used for repair orders.
• Sets up and troubleshoots lapping machines for repair maintenance.
