Service Steel Aerospace Corp. in Wichita, KS seeks a Saw Operator to join our team.

You will pull, verify, and process material through band and plate saws, ensuring production lead times and quality standards while maintaining a safe work area. Responsibilities include setting up saws for aluminum, alloy, stainless steel, titanium, and exotic metals, reading work orders, moving materials with forklift or crane, and data entry into inventory systems.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent minimum.
• Ability to quickly learn multiple functions in a complex industry.
• Must be able to work in a team environment.
• Knowledge of operating industrial equipment, Band saws preferred.
• Good mathematical skills, including measurements.
• Knowledge of OSHA guidelines and safe work practices.
• Ability to use and read measuring equipment such as calipers and measuring tape.
• Ability to operate a crane/forklift.
• Self-motivated and can act on own initiative.
• Experienced working to targets and deadlines.
• Adaptable and have a positive attitude towards change.
• Motivated, communicative and goal oriented.

Responsibilities

• Pull material, verify stock, and process material through band and plate saws.
• Set up and operate band saws to cut aluminum, alloy, stainless steels, titanium, and other exotic metals to specified dimensions.
• Read work orders for material specifications and dimensions.
• Retrieve material and transfer stock to band saws manually, with forklift, or by crane (where applicable).
• Install saw blades and set blade cutting speed for specified operation.
• Input data to set band saw parameters based on shop order specifications.
• Move material with forklift/crane and observe cutting operation.
• Follow all quality inspections and quality requirements regarding work orders and procedures.
