Job summary

Service Steel Aerospace is hiring a Saw Operator in Wichita for 2nd shift (Mon-Fri 2:00 pm–10:30 pm). You will pull, verify, and process material through band and plate saws to meet specs and lead times.

You will read work orders, set up equipment, and document in the inventory system while maintaining safety standards. You must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to read calipers and tape measures.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent minimum.
• Ability to quickly learn multiple functions in a complex industry.
• Must be able to work in a team environment.
• Knowledge of operating industrial equipment, band saws preferred.
• Good mathematical skills, including measurements.
• Knowledge of OSHA guidelines and safe work practices.
• Ability to use and read measuring equipment such as calipers and measuring tape.
• Ability to operate a crane/forklift.

Responsibilities

• Pulling material, verifying, and processing through band saw and plate saws.
• Set up and operate band saws to cut aluminum, alloy, stainless steels, titanium, and other metals to specified dimensions.
• Read work orders for specifications and transfer stock to band saws.
• Input data to set band saw parameters per shop orders.
