Job summary

Huntington Steel & Supply Co. is seeking an experienced machine operator in Huntington, WV. The role involves loading, operating, unloading and changing blades/tooling on saws, punches and mills, while following strict safety guidelines and blueprints.

You will read drawings, measure to 1/32 inch, and ensure parts meet tolerances with limited supervision. Overtime and flexible hours may be available to meet production needs.

Qualifications

• Must read and understand blueprints and working drawings.
• Must read, speak and write English fluently.
• Must have good math and measuring skills.
• Ability to read foot/inch/fractions to 1/32 of an inch.

Responsibilities

• Load, operate, unload and change blades/tooling on saws, punches and mills.
• Follow safety policy and safety standards for equipment operated.
• Read blueprints and ensure work meets specified tolerances.
• Work with limited supervision to complete tasks on time.
• Clean and lubricate machines regularly and perform basic maintenance.
• Plan and organize work according to schedules and due dates.
• Troubleshoot equipment with on/off-site support.
• Maintain quality checks and record results.
