Job summary

Ellwood Specialty Metals Company in New Castle, PA is seeking a Saw and Flow Operator I to join our manufacturing team. This on-site, full-time role involves operating automatic saw equipment, loading stock, and ensuring quality through post-cut inspections.

You will work with forklifts/cranes, document production data, and follow safety rules to maintain a clean, efficient shop. The ideal candidate has basic arithmetic, measurement skills, and a willingness to learn.

Qualifications

• Working mechanical knowledge/aptitude is required; training provided.
• Ability to understand basic correspondence, instructions, graphs, and charts.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic and use measuring devices.
• Vision and hearing sufficient for supervision and safety.
• Ability to read tape measures and micrometers.

Responsibilities

• Receive, store, handle, cut and ship material to meet shop and customer requirements.
• Loads/unloads material with forklift or overhead crane and positions as required.
• Completes paperwork and inputs information into the computer system; updates inventory.
• Sets up and operates saw, selects feeds/speeds, maintains coolant, and cleans as needed.
• Inspects material quality during and after cut; ensures square pieces.
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment; follows plant safety regulations.
