Job summary

Ellwood Specialty Metals is seeking a Saw/ Flow Operator I at our New Castle, PA site to set up and operate automatic saw equipment, cut material to spec, and ensure quality through post-cut inspection. You will load and unload with forklift, handle material, maintain coolant levels, and record production data in the system.

This non-exempt, full-time position reports to the Operations Manager and offers hands-on training in a dynamic metalworking operation requiring physical work and commitment

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret basic instructions and charts.
• Experience with measurement tools like tapes and micrometers.
• Basic arithmetic and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Receive, store, handle, cut, and ship material to meet requirements.
• Load/unload material using forklift or overhead crane.
• Set up and operate saw with correct feeds and speeds; maintain coolant.
• Inspect quality during and after cut; verify squareness.
• Record production data and update inventory in the computer system.
• Report defective material or equipment to management.
