Qualifications

• Mechanical knowledge/aptitude.
• Able to read basic instructions, rules, policies, charts.
• Basic arithmetic and numerical concepts necessary for tasks.
• Ability to use measuring devices such as tapes and gauges.
• Vision includes near/far acuity, color, depth perception.
• Hearing sufficient to communicate with coworkers and detect issues.

Responsibilities

• Receive, store, handle, cut and ship material to meet requirements.
• Load/unload material with forklift or overhead crane.
• Complete paperwork and update inventory in computer system.
• Set up and operate saw; manage feeds, speeds and coolant.
• Inspect material quality during and after cutting; ensure square pieces.
• Use measuring tools to verify dimensions.
• Stamp/mark material identifications as required.
• Perform blade changes and move material to next work area.
• Complete production reports using computer system.
• Report defective material or faulty equipment promptly.
• Maintain clean, safe work environment and follow safety regulations.
