Duties include operating abrasive blasting on carbon steel weldments, shoveling or pouring sand into the machine, monitoring abrasive supply, preparing surfaces with adhesives, lifting heavy equipment, preparing parts for the paint shop, and maintaining the blasting

Qualifications

• Experience operating abrasive blasting on carbon steel.
• Able to shovel or pour abrasive material safely.
• Ability to prepare surfaces and protect areas with adhesives.
• Capable of lifting heavy equipment and standing for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Operate abrasive blasting on carbon steel weldments.
• Load sand or grit into blasting equipment.
• Maintain adequate abrasive materials in hopper.
• Prepare surfaces and protect areas using adhesives.
• Move heavy equipment onto racks or within tumbling cabinets.
• Prepare parts for the paint shop.
• Maintain and clean blasting equipment, including nozzles.
