Job summary

Wayne Metals LLC is seeking a skilled Welder/Robotic Operator to set up and oversee robotic welding cells, ensuring the production of high-quality components per blueprints and customer specs. You will monitor programs, perform touch-ups, inspect welds, and maintain a clean, safe workspace.

The role requires reading weld symbols, understanding MIG/GMAW processes, and collaborating with a team to meet production targets while adhering to quality standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of MIG/GMAW welding processes.
• Ability to read blueprints and weld symbols.
• Experience with robotic welding systems.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Welding certification or formal welding training.
• Experience with steel fabrication and fixtures.
• Familiarity with welding codes and quality standards.
• Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Set up robotic welding cells, fixtures, tooling, and wire.
• Load and unload parts into robotic fixtures.
• Start, monitor, and adjust robotic welding programs to ensure weld quality.
• Perform minor program touch-ups and adjustments as required.
• Inspect welds for quality, penetration, and appearance.
• Must use hand tools like grinders and dynafiles to remove weld burrs.
• Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of robotic welding equipment and processes.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks (cleaning, tip changes, wire changes).
• Identify and report equipment malfunctions, quality concerns, or safety issues.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area per 5S standards.
• Follow all safety policies, PPE requirements, and meet production standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support production needs.
• Comply with Wayne Metals, LLC quality system requirements and defect prevention.
