Southern Fabricators, Inc. seeks a detail-oriented Quality Technician in Polkton, NC to inspect metal components against drawings and specifications.

You will perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections, record results, and contribute to product quality and safety. You will read blueprints, use calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools, and collaborate with production and engineering to address defects and support continuous quality improvements consistent with ISO 9001

Qualificações

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or an associate degree preferred.
• Experience in quality inspection, quality control, or manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and gauges.
• Basic knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems and quality control procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Responsabilidades

• Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of manufactured metal components to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and quality standards.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, work orders, and customer specifications to determine inspection requirements.
• Use precision measuring instruments to verify part dimensions and tolerances.
• Inspect welded, fabricated, machined, and finished metal components for dimensional accuracy, workmanship, and visible defects.
• Document inspection results, measurements, defects, and nonconforming materials accurately.
• Identify and report quality concerns, product defects, and specification discrepancies to the Quality Manager and appropriate production personnel.
• Assist with the identification, documentation, and control of nonconforming products to prevent incorrect materials or components from moving through production.
• Collaborate with production supervisors, work leads, and engineering personnel to investigate quality concerns and resolve manufacturing issues.
• Support corrective and preventive action activities by collecting inspection data and assisting with root cause investigations.
• Maintain accurate quality records, inspection reports, and documentation in accordance with company procedures and ISO 9001 standards.
• Verify that required inspections are completed before products move to subsequent production processes or shipment.
• Assist with the calibration, verification, and proper handling of measuring and inspection equipment.
• Monitor production processes and identify opportunities to improve product quality and reduce rework.
• Support internal quality audits, 5S practices, and continuous improvement initiatives as needed.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Communicate inspection results, quality concerns, and process improvement opportunities clearly to supervisors and team members.
