Job summary

Technique LLC seeks a Quality Inspector for our Concord, NC facility to ensure chassis and welded assemblies meet NASCAR specs. You’ll perform incoming, in‑process, and final inspections, including dimensional checks and laser metrology, while maintaining strict traceability.

The role requires 3+ years in quality inspection in fabrication or precision manufacturing, blueprints and GD&T proficiency, and the ability to work under race-season deadlines with attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical/associate degree preferred
• Minimum 3 years quality inspection experience in fabrication, welding, or precision manufacturing
• Motorsports, aerospace, or other high‑precision, low‑volume manufacturing experience a strong plus
• Strong blueprint reading skills and working knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and bore/gage inspection
• Experience with laser scanning, laser trackers, CMM, and Polyworks; willingness to be trained required
• Welding inspection knowledge; CWI or CAWI certification a plus
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, nonconforming material control, and calibration requirements
• ASQ CQI (Certified Quality Inspector) certification a plus
• Strong attention to detail and teamwork

Responsibilities

• Incoming Inspection of materials, tubing, sheet stock, and outsourced components with certifications and paperwork
• In‑Process inspection at defined points during fabrication, welding, and assembly
• Final inspection to verify NASCAR drawings and specifications before shipment
• First Article inspections and dimensional reports
• Dimensional verification using calipers, micrometers, height gages, and other tools
• Operate laser scanners, laser trackers, CMM, and Polyworks for CAD model comparison
• Weld inspection per AWS and customer requirements; dye penetrant/magnetic particle inspection per direction
• Verify chassis jigs, fixtures, and inspection fixtures for accuracy
• Record serial numbers, material certs, weld records, and inspection results for traceability
• Support root cause investigations (8D, 5 Why) and MRB activities
• Coordinate with fabrication teams to keep race-season deadlines
