Job summary

Thread-Craft in Sterling Heights, Michigan, seeks a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our precision manufacturing team. You will inspect ballscrews and related components to ensure they meet engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; two- or four-year degree preferred in quality, manufacturing, or engineering technology.
• Experience in quality inspection or quality control is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and specifications, and to learn new tools and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on inspections of precision-machined components to verify conformance with drawings and specs.
• Use precision measuring instruments to verify dimensional accuracy and product quality.
• Interpret drawings, tolerances, and specifications to determine product acceptance.
• Identify defects and nonconformances, documenting findings and communicating concerns to teams.
• Complete inspection reports and nonconformance documentation accurately.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions with production and engineering teams.
• Verify calibration of inspection equipment and adherence to calibration procedures.
• Follow AS9100/ISO 9001 procedures and other quality standards.
• Adapt to new technologies and inspection methods as processes evolve.
• Identify opportunities to improve inspection processes and product quality.
