Job summary

Cummins Inc. is seeking a Shop/Quality Technician to provide front-line quality support on the production floor. You will inspect components, perform dimensional checks, and collaborate with quality and manufacturing engineers to resolve defects.

Responsibilities include containment checks, data collection, engine teardowns, and documenting repairs, with emphasis on safety and process improvement. Must pass tests and work on-site in Indiana.

Responsibilities

• Serves as line and floor support answering questions on product quality and monitoring.
• Performs Millipore cleanliness checks and reports results.
• Works with engineers to assess when parts are out of specification.
• Creates setups and performs dimensional checks with precision measuring equipment.
• Screens for containment of supplier part defects and reworks components.
• Interfaces with measurement lab to verify nonconformance of components.
• Performs audits for defects using prescribed checklists.
• Collaborates with shop operations and various teams to find defect solutions.
• Collects Engine Serial Number information to support improvements.
• Performs engine teardowns and documents repairs in the system.
• Maintains safety and housekeeping in work areas.
