Job summary

Cummins Inc. in Seymour, IN is seeking an assembler for on-site manufacturing operations. You will operate manual and automated equipment to assemble components, follow standardized processes, and contribute to safety, quality and delivery goals.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, plus up to six months of relevant experience. Evening shifts with overtime may be available, and training is provided to support ongoing improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six months of relevant work experience preferred.
• Must be able to work at heights and pass a physical for breathable air equipment.
• Able to work evening shift with overtime.

Responsibilities

• Operates manual and automated equipment to assemble product as specified.
• Follows standardized work and processes documentation.
• Participates as a team member to operate and manage assembly to meet safety, quality, cost and delivery goals.
• Maintains clean and orderly work area and performs routine machine maintenance and housekeeping tasks.
• Performs rework and scrap transactions; identifies nonconforming materials.
• Collects, analyzes and displays operating data and uses problem-solving techniques when issues arise.
• Uses material handling equipment such as hoists and forklifts to move parts and skids.
• Complies with policies and uses required PPE; participates in training and development.
• Participates in improvement projects and in team-based problem solving.
