Job summary

JGM seeks a dedicated QC Inspector to join our team in a fast-paced fabrication setting. You will inspect raw materials, in-process work, and finished products for conformance to shop drawings, specifications, and codes using precision measuring tools.

The ideal candidate has experience with welding symbols, blueprints, and various welding processes, and can document inspection activities, support audits, and maintain calibration records while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of welding symbols and diagrams, and inspection tools.
• Highly proficient in reading blueprints and other printed instructional material.
• Basic Math & Geometry/Trigonometry.
• Familiar with welding processes FCAW, SAW, GMAW, GTAW.
• Ability to perform and document inspection activities during fabrication and welding.
• Microsoft Office experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct complete layout inspections, measuring dimensions with precision instruments to ensure conformance to drawings and specs.
• Verify quality at all stages: incoming, in-process, and final products.
• Visually inspect welds, bolts, coatings, and assemblies; compare parts to detect variations and enforce standards.
• Interpret and apply shop drawings, ASTM codes, AISC standards, DOT requirements, and welding/bolting/painting codes.
• Maintain inspection records, defect lists, and calibration of measuring equipment; coordinate with departments to resolve quality issues.
• Support operator training on measurement and processes; assist with audits.
• Manage NDE training, testing, certification, and documentation; maintain CWI certification.
• Review and approve quality-related purchase orders, reports, and testing requirements.
• Assist in developing procedures, quality summaries, and corrective actions; enforce non-conformance protocols.
• Serve as liaison with outside inspectors; investigate shop/field errors and support resolutions.
• Perform other QA-related tasks as required.
