Job summary

DWYER INSTRUMENTS, LLC is seeking a QC Inspector in Michigan City, IN. The role involves inspecting incoming parts, in-process items, and finished goods to ensure conformance with engineering data. You will read prints, verify dimensions with gauges, and report defects to the Quality team.

The ideal candidate can follow instructions, demonstrates attention to detail, and performs basic sampling. This is a full-time, on-site position with a fast-paced shop floor environment.

Qualifications

• Follow instructions and work in a production setting with attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast paced environment.
• Good eyesight including depth perception and color differentiation.
• Ability to perform a math assessment as part of the hiring process.
• Strong working knowledge of using prints, instruments and gauges.
• Ability to understand engineering requirements and basic sampling.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming parts to prints, specs and standards using test devices.
• Use blueprints to confirm size, material, surface finish and threads.
• Inspect first piece production runs in print shop areas.
• Check finished sub-assemblies and products for workmanship and calibration.
• Periodically inspect in-process work per route and sampling instructions.
• Notify Line Leaders or Quality Control Engineer of defects.
• Disassemble and analyze defective units to identify failure modes.
• Sort scrap and enter data into the MRM system.
• Maintain general housekeeping in the work area.
