Job summary

Gulf Island in Houma, LA is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to ensure product quality per engineering drawings, SOPs, and work instructions in enclosure assembly areas. You will verify conformance, document inspections, and support production to build quality in.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, 2+ years QC experience in manufacturing, ability to read engineering drawings, read a tape measure, and pass background checks and drug screening.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years experience as a Quality Control Inspector with a focus on manufacturing or assemblies.
• Strong understanding of quality control principles and standards.
• Good math and technical skills.
• Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings.
• Must be able to read a tape measure.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.).
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.
• Must be able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret Engineering drawings, work instructions etc. to understand the requirements of the products.
• Verify that the products meet Engineering drawings and SOP requirements using tape measures, pressure gauges, torque wrenches and other required methods.
• Document inspections and testing on the appropriate forms.
• Photograph accepted condition of product and components to the appropriate files.
• Upload inspection and testing documents to files.
• Be involved in the process by assisting Production to ensure quality is built into the product without interfering with the production process.
• Assist in resolving quality related issues in a timely manner.
• Support the Quality Lead, Quality Engineer and Quality Manager as necessary to complete daily tasks and projects.
• Perform all other reasonable duties as assigned by the Quality Control Lead, Engineer and Manager.
• Communicate clearly with Production and Engineering as necessary to resolve quality issues.
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisor
