Job summary

PI (Physik Instrumente), LP in Shrewsbury, MA is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to ensure products meet quality and compliance standards through precise measurement, inspection, and data-driven improvement. This full-time temp-to-perm position runs Monday–Friday, 7am-3:30pm, with a 90-day performance period that transitions to permanent.

You will inspect products across stages, use micrometers and calipers, maintain records, and contribute to continuous improvement in an ISO 9001

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in quality or related field.
• Ability to read technical drawings and interpret details.
• Experience with ISO 9001, Six Sigma, 5S, kaizen or similar problem-solving methods preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• US citizens, green card holders, or protected individuals per ITAR requirements.
• Background check required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming, in-process, and finished products against specifications.
• Use precision measuring tools to verify dimensions and quality.
• Maintain inspection records, test data, and calibration databases.
• Prepare quality reports and document non-conformances.
• Ensure test equipment is calibrated and functioning.
• Identify opportunities to improve quality control procedures.
• Support production while preserving workflow with quality checks.
• Respond to quality issues in real time and document actions.
• Maintain inventory of non-conforming material.
• Follow 5S and lean practices in an ISO 9001 environment.
