The role requires strong attention to detail, experience with first article and final inspections, and the ability to document findings accurately in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Fundamental understanding of blueprint reading and shop math, including trigonometry.
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, thread gauges, gauge blocks).
• Strong attention to detail and documentation of inspection results.
• Experience performing in-process and final quality checks in manufacturing, automotive, or aerospace.

Responsibilities

• Conduct precise mechanical inspections on machined parts and incoming materials to ensure full compliance with technical specifications.
• Perform first-off inspections at manufacturing work centers to identify and resolve potential quality issues early in the production cycle.
• Generate comprehensive data for First Article Inspection (FAI) and Final Inspection Reports (FIRs) to maintain accurate quality documentation.
• Interpret complex customer drawings and process travelers to ensure all manufacturing steps align with design requirements.
• Utilize calibrated measurement tools to validate dimensional accuracy and geometric conformance.
• Maintain a high standard of visual inspection to detect surface defects and ensure overall product quality.
