Job summary

SPP Pumps in Norcross, GA is seeking a hands-on technician to conduct hydraulic and electrical tests ensuring reliable pump performance across models. You will disassemble and assemble pumps, set up and operate lathes for impeller trimming, and balance impellers to tight tolerances.

Strong analytical skills and teamwork are essential. The role requires a High School diploma and 2+ years in manufacturing or pump testing.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years’ experience in manufacturing / lathe / balancing machine operations / Testing.
• Forklift certified.
• Experience working with pumps.
• Experience in adjusting controls and taking data.
• Mathematical and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to work well as a team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment; manages competing demands and can deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Understand manufacturing processes.
• Dismantle and assemble pumps (HSC, KFL, KP & VT).
• Set up and operate lathe equipment for impeller trim.
• Balance impellers on balancing machine per guidelines.
• Analyze and diagnose pump assembly issues.
• Study pump performance processes.
• Set up pump tests for all models and conduct performance tests.
