Job summary

BD is seeking a Press Operator in Sumter, South Carolina, to produce molded pad sheets using a hydraulic press and to monitor cycle times, weights, and quality of each pad. You will inspect for defects and document production data, maintaining a safe and orderly workspace.

Responsibilities include loading materials, following SOPs, and reporting equipment issues promptly. The role requires basic math skills and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, with weekend hours as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
• Experience in manufacturing preferred.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Work extended hours as required, including weekends.
• Work around moving mechanical parts; exposure to noise, vibration, and chemical fumes.

Responsibilities

• Operates presses utilizing standard operating procedures (SOP).
• Loads/unloads materials manually.
• Cleans work area, presses, and associated equipment.
• Inspects product for defects, reports any quality or safety issues to setup or supervisor.
• Records data on press log sheets and other documentation.
• Monitors the temperature.
• Maintain neat and safe work space.
• Basic math for production boards and completed pallets of production.
