Job summary

Simpson Strong-Tie Company Inc. in Columbus, OH, is seeking a Press Operator to run an automatic stamping press and produce quality components while upholding safety and LEAN production goals.

The position follows a first shift, 6:00 am - 4:30 pm, with potential overtime. Pay ranges from $16.44 to $24.66 per hour, and relocation is not offered. The role requires standing most of the shift, lifting up to 40–50 lbs, and reading blueprints with precision measuring tools.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year related experience and/or training preferred.
• Safety: prioritize safety by demonstrating safe work practices.
• Accountability & Dependability: punctual attendance.
• Physical Demands: able to stand throughout shift and lift up to 40 lbs.
• Mathematical Reasoning: apply basic math skills.
• Instruction Comprehension: follow instructions in English (written/oral).
• Communication: communicate one-on-one and in small groups.
• Measurements: read tape measure to 1/32" and use measuring tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate automatic stamping presses to support department and company goals.
• Assist press set-ups and changeovers; communicate issues with leadership.
• Perform quality inspections to blueprints and specs using precision measuring tools.
• Count, package and palletize finished product per work orders; ensure auxiliary equipment is in spec.
