Job summary

Illinois Tool Works Inc. in the StampTech Fasteners division seeks a press operator to assemble, install, and align dies in presses and ensure metal parts meet specifications. The role requires reading gauges, loading feeders, and performing changeovers in a fast-paced setting.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent and 2–3 years of industrial experience, forklift experience, and strong attention to detail. Teamwork and safety are emphasized in daily tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.2-3 years of industrial experience preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate a forklift.
• Ability to read and interpret simple instructions and use gauges.

Responsibilities

• Assembles, installs, and aligns dies in press according to specifications.
• Adjusts ram stroke to specified height.
• Positions work piece against fixtures or stops on machine bed or on die.
• Starts press and observes operation to detect misalignment or malfunction.
• Inspects work pieces for conformance to specifications and adjusts machine to correct errors.
• Positions and clamps feed guide and loads hopper or conveyor with metal blanks.
• Maintains a safe, clean, and organized work environment at all times.
• Cleans and lubricates machines and maintains work area in a neat and orderly fashion.
