Job summary

Skyframe specializes in custom framing, fine art production, large-format production, delivery, and installation in Hillside, NJ. We are seeking an experienced Picture Framer/Fitter to join our production team at our Hillside facility.

This hands-on role requires prior framing experience, especially with fitting and safely handling artwork, plus strong attention to detail. You will use glazing, mats, backing, spacers, mounting materials, and hardware to complete orders and ensure high-quality

Qualifications

• Previous professional picture framing experience required.
• Fitting experience strongly required.
• Experience safely handling artwork is required.
• Knowledge of framing materials and finishing techniques.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Comfortable with fragile and valuable artwork.
• Able to use hand tools and framing equipment.
• Reliable, organized, and able to work efficiently in a production environment.
• Ability to lift and handle larger framed pieces when necessary.
• Experience with museum-quality, gallery, or high-end custom framing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Fit and finish custom picture framing orders.
• Safely handle original artwork, prints, photographs, canvases, and other valuable materials.
• Install artwork into frames using proper framing techniques.
• Work with glazing, mats, backing, spacers, mounting materials, and hardware.
• Inspect frames and artwork for quality before completing orders.
• Install hanging hardware and prepare finished pieces for delivery or installation.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Follow work orders and production instructions accurately.
• Work with the production team to meet deadlines while maintaining high quality standards.
• Identify damage, fitting issues, or production concerns before an order is completed.
