Job summary

Aerotek is hiring for a Packer in Ferndale, MI, in a refrigerated food production setting. You will support filling machines, inspect products, weigh items, and prepare shipments across three shifts. PPE, temperature control, and precise packing processes are required to ensure food safety and quality.

The role is Contract to Hire, onsite in Ferndale, with a pay rate of $14.00–$14.50 per hour. Benefits and schedules align with production operations and company policies.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform visual inspection of products, packaging, and labels to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Capability to lift up to 40 pounds safely and repeatedly during the shift.
• Comfort using a computer, including navigating screens and toggling through applications on devices.

Responsibilities

• Operate and support filler machines that dispense hummus and salsa into plastic containers, ensuring accurate fills and consistent product flow.
• Perform visual inspections of product, packaging, and labels to confirm quality standards and identify defects.
• Use scales to weigh product and packaging, adjusting weights to meet targets.
• Package finished products, including sealing, labeling, and preparing items for shipment or further processing.
• Navigate computer interfaces to complete basic tasks and enter data for production checks.
• Use hand tools and equipment safely to support packaging and inspection activities.
• Move continuously during the shift, loading containers and monitoring machines.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene and PPE requirements in designated food areas.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area according to standards.
• Collaborate with team members and report equipment issues or safety hazards.
