Job summary

Gibraltar Building Products is seeking a production/machine operator to set up and adjust machinery, load cartons, seal products, and move finished goods to pallets. You will ensure correct labeling, perform inspections, lubricate equipment, and keep a safe, clean work area.

Qualifications

• Highschool/GED requirement.
• Over 2 years of related work experience.
• Technical knowledge and understanding of machinery and equipment.
• Attention to detail to identify and rectify machine malfunctions.
• Mechanical aptitude to operate and maintain machinery effectively.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.

Responsibilities

• Assist forklift driver to load coils onto payoff.
• String roll form machine prep for operation with feeding tools or PPE.
• Pre-Forming cartons, filling with product, sealing, using stapler/bander.
• Verify product and carton labels are correct and properly placed.
• Move finished cartons to storage or shipping racks.
• Transport racks of finished goods using a riding pallet jack.
• Measure product length and observe quality.
• Notify Supervisor of production or quality problems.
• Lubricate machines and refill lubrication devices.
• Dispose of scrap and maintain a safe area.
• Fill out paperwork and enter time/production data into computer.
• Perform any other responsibilities deemed necessary by leadership.
