Job summary

Graftek Imaging, Inc. in Austin, TX is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to assemble optical and electromechanical components in a high-volume production environment.

You will build mechanical structures, cable harnesses, and sub-assemblies from drawings and work orders, ensuring zero-defect quality and meeting daily output targets. The role demands precise hand-work, attentiveness, and strong tool skills with measurement devices.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in mechanical assembly or fabrication.
• Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a production setting.
• Comfortable with hand and power tools used in light manufacturing.
• Ability to read basic mechanical drawings or electrical schematics.
• Understanding of electrical/electronic systems.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a zero-defect mindset.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Windows proficiency (email, data entry, file management).

Responsibilities

• Assemble optical and electromechanical components and sub-assemblies to tight tolerances.
• Maintain production pace while ensuring quality and accuracy.
• Read mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and parts lists.
• Perform mechanical fabrication using hand and power tools.
• Fabricate and assemble cable harnesses and electrical connectors.
• Solder components and cable connectors at the board level.
• Build complete systems per engineering specifications.
• Operate test fixtures and measurement equipment to verify units.
• Log labor hours and expenses; identify process issues and support corrective actions.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Associate’s Degree in a technical or related field

Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly or fabrication

Ability to read basic mechanical drawings or electrical schematics

Attention to detail with zero defects

Good written and verbal communication skills

Basic computer proficiency in Windows (email, data entry, file management)
