Job summary

Aerotek in SAN DIEGO, CA is seeking Mechanical Assemblers for 2nd shift on a contract basis. You will build and validate precision opto-mechanical assemblies following detailed procedures, using torque wrenches and pneumatic screwdrivers, and entering data into company databases.

The role requires reading blueprints, using hand tools, collaborating with engineers, and maintaining quality control through inspections. Cleanroom experience and ability to work in a fast-paced environment are a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience with electro-optical and/or opto-mechanical systems.
• Ability to detect defects with 20/20 vision (or corrected).
• Understanding of customer relationship building and service skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and validate precision opto-mechanical assemblies according to procedures.
• Use standardized tools and electric equipment for mechanical assembly.
• Enter data into company databases.
• Perform simple standardized inspections/tests during production.
• Collaborate with engineers for special builds and experiments.
• Work with peers and supervisors to resolve issues.
• Operate precision cleaning machinery.
• Prepare completed assemblies for shipment.
• Recommend procedural improvements to management.
• Ensure quality control measures are followed for module production.
• Identify and document discrepant material.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
