Job summary

Thorlabs is seeking an Assembly Technician Level I in Jessup, MD, to build laser system components and assemblies. You will work with electrical, mechanical, and optical parts, following detailed instructions and maintaining records in the ERP system.

Responsibilities include precise assembly, basic soldering/crimping, and operating sensitive test equipment, with a focus on quality, output, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience or training in electronics, fiber optics, photonics or related field preferred.
• Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble electrical, mechanical, and optical components per work instructions.
• Perform basic soldering and crimping per procedures and standards.
• Operate fiber splicers, optical test instruments, and alignment tools after training.
