Job summary

At MKS Instruments in Irvine, the Optics Fabricator role partners with Production, Engineering and Planning to deliver world-class precision optics. You will operate multiple polishing and generating machines, read routers and engineering drawings, and ensure parts meet specifications.

Responsibilities include testing with interferometers and calipers, troubleshooting equipment, performing surface quality inspections, and performing routine maintenance to keep machines running at peak

Qualifications

• High school diploma, vocational training, or equivalent preferred.
• Basic computer skills and literacy required.
• Clear communication abilities essential.
• Enthusiasm for collaborating in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate multiple polishing and generating machines for various optical materials.
• Read routers and engineering drawings to ensure correct part specifications.
• Test optical parts using interferometers, calipers, and micrometers.
• Troubleshoot and adjust equipment to produce passing parts.
• Perform surface quality inspections for digs and scratches.
• Maintain machines to keep them running at peak efficiency.
