Job summary

Unknown company in Ankeny, IA is seeking a Mold Maker for the 3rd shift to build precision injection molds from engineering drawings. You will work in a climate-controlled tool room with advanced equipment to produce components for medical devices.

You will read blueprints, operate CNC mills and EDM equipment, inspect parts with precision instruments, and collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production to ensure on-time completion.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in mold making or precision machining.
• Experience building molds and precision components.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and CAD files.
• Experience with CNC machining and EDM equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Tool & Die education or apprenticeship is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build new precision steel injection molds from drawings.
• Machine mold components using CNC mills, EDM sinkers, lathes, grinders.
• Read blueprints, engineering drawings, CAD models.
• Inspect components with precision measuring equipment.
• Troubleshoot tooling issues during mold builds.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Production to meet schedules.
• Support new tooling projects and continuous improvement.
