Job summary

MasTec Industrial is hiring a Millwright Journeyman (Precision) in Abernathy, TX. You will install, align, and service machinery in industrial facilities, reading blueprints and schematics to guide work.

The role requires welding experience and the ability to travel to various job sites as needed. As a Journeyman, you will work with Hoists, conveyors, foundations, and precision alignment tools to ensure equipment meets exact specifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1–3 years related experience and/or training.
• Welding experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promote and comply with all Company and safety policies and procedures.
• Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
• Dismantle machines using hand tools; move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers and trucks.
• Assemble and install equipment such as shafting, conveyors and tram rails using hand and power tools.
• Construct foundation for machines using wood, cement and steel.
• Align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares and micrometers.
• Assemble machines and bolts, welds, rivets, or fasten them to foundations or structures.
• Operate engine lathe to grind, file and turn machine parts.
• Repair and lubricate machines and equipment.
• Select cables, ropes and pulleys according to load.
• Attach pulley and blocks to overhead structures.
• Attach load with grappling devices to crane hook.
• Set up, brace and rig hoisting equipment.
• Splice rope and wire cables to make or repair slings.
• May direct workers engaged in hoisting of machinery.
• May travel to different jobsites on short notice.
• Other duties as assigned by Foreman or Superintendent.
