Job summary

Seah-Steel-US is hiring a Mic Inspector to perform dimensional verification of tubes per the material spec sheet and report non-conformities to QA/QC leadership. The role emphasizes safe operation, good housekeeping, and strict adherence to plant policies during the Houston shift.

Responsibilities include using micrometers, calipers, pi tapes and ovality gauges, documenting measurements, and collaborating with Operations to ensure a high-quality product.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year experience preferred.
• Reading and writing English; solid arithmetic and computer skills.
• Manual dexterity for operating machinery and tools.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
• Flexible schedule with possible overtime.
• Adherence to safety rules and PPE policies.

Responsibilities

• Operate micrometers, calipers, pi tapes and ovality gauges.
• Inspect tubes for debris and perform visual checks.
• Maintain machinery specifications and detect malfunctions.
• Ensure adequate airflow and alignment for flushing.
• Verify machinery is serviced before starting and during shifts.
• Document measurements on paper forms or ERP.
• Communicate with Operations to ensure quality.
• Report material or equipment issues to supervisors.
• Follow PPE policies and safety rules.
• Refer to Mic Station work instruction.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
