Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metrology, or related technical field.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in metrology, dimensional inspection, or precision measurement, preferably in automotive manufacturing or metal fabrication.
• Hands-on experience programming and operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
• Experience using Faro arms, height gauges, and precision measurement instruments.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T specifications, and dimensional tolerances.
• Working knowledge of First Article Inspection (FAI), APQP, and PPAP processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain metrology procedures to ensure accurate and consistent dimensional inspections.
• Program, operate, and troubleshoot Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and other precision measuring equipment.
• Perform dimensional inspections using Faro arms, height gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other measurement instruments.
• Conduct first-piece, in-process, final, and First Article Inspections (FAI) to verify product conformity.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and tolerances.
• Utilize non-contact measurement technologies when applicable (e.g., laser scanning).
• Generate and analyze 3D measurement data and models to validate dimensions and tolerances.
• Identify, document, and report nonconforming components and dimensional discrepancies.
• Support APQP and PPAP documentation and submissions.
