Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) seeks a Metrology/Precision Research Engineer to join our Precision Systems & Manufacturing Group. You will apply precision engineering and dimensional metrology to lead projects from novel research initiatives to stockpile stewardship support, designing precision hardware and metrology tools while quantifying measurement uncertainty.

• U.S. DOE Q-level clearance and U.S. citizenship required.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Precision Engineering, or equivalent.
• Fundamental engineering knowledge related to precision hardware design and analysis.
• Fundamental knowledge of metrology principles and technologies.
• Experience with Matlab, Visual Basic (VB), Python, or similar.
• Experience applying ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards.
• Ability to work independently or in a team with strong communication.

Responsabilidades

• Contribute to design, fabrication, and metrology of precision hardware.
• Develop and qualify metrology routines for complex assemblies.
• Collaborate with managers, physicists, designers, engineers, and vendors; communicate results.
• Generate specifications and mechanical drawings; perform engineering calculations.
