Job summary

CyberCoders, Inc. seeks a dependable Saw Operator to accurately cut metal stock to required lengths using band saws in a fast-paced metal service center. You will measure and verify dimensions, select and tension blades, and ensure quality, safety, and on-time production.)

Responsibilities include setup, maintenance, safety training adherence, and accurate documentation of production metrics. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with bar saw or metal service center experience a plus.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as a Saw Operator or similar role; proficient with band saws.
• Able to read and interpret work orders, basic blueprints and cutting instructions; strong measuring skills with calipers and micrometers.
• Knowledge of machine setup, blade selection and preventive maintenance practices.
• Strong attention to detail with commitment to part accuracy, quality control and safety compliance.
• Physically able to lift/move heavy materials, stand for extended periods in a manufacturing environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in machine operation is a plus.
• Nice to have: experience with bar saws and prior metal service center experience.
• Preferred certifications: OSHA 10/30, lockout/tagout or equivalent safety training.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and monitor band saws to cut metal stock according to work orders and engineering specifications.
• Measure, mark and verify material dimensions using calipers, micrometers and tape measures; adjust to ensure accuracy and tolerance compliance.
• Select, install and tension blades; perform routine blade changes and adjustments to maintain cutting quality.
• Inspect raw material and finished parts for defects, correct dimensions and surface quality; report non-conforming material to supervisors.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area; perform daily and preventive maintenance on saws and related equipment.
• Follow all safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures and PPE requirements to maintain a safe workplace.
• Accurately document production quantities, material usage, scrap and machine maintenance in logs or production system.
• Coordinate with material handlers, quality inspectors and production supervisors to prioritize jobs and meet delivery schedules.
• Assist with setup and operation of bar saws and other cutting machinery as needed to support workflow continuity.
