Smalley Steel Ring Company is hiring for a 1st shift fabrication role in Lake Zurich, IL. The position involves setting up and operating two small flat wire machines, loading wire safely, and using precision measuring tools to ensure quality.

You will perform data entry, document processes, and report any issues. Candidates should have manufacturing experience and basic math/English skills; the role offers hourly pay and bonus eligibility.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing or related environment.
• Mechanical experience with high-speed equipment.
• Set up and adjust metal forming processes.
• Experience troubleshooting production equipment and identifying problems.
• Ability to measure parts with precision instruments (micrometers, calipers).
• Pass required exam of basic math and English.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates 2 small flat wire machines, loading wire safely.
• Operates testing equipment including micrometers and hardness testers.
• Performs data entry for wire data and labeling, checks wire quality.
• Reports machine, material or team issues and suggests solutions within scope.
• Prepares raw material for production with quality and tolerances.
• Maintains documentation and adheres to defined quality standards.
