Job summary

Atlas in Chicago, IL is seeking a Hand Forming Operator to shape metal parts per engineering drawings, operate presses, read calipers and gauges, and ensure quality.

You will clock into jobs in the ERP system, handle various materials, maintain PPE, keep your workspace clean, and participate in safety training. Minimum high school diploma or GED with 1 year of handforming/manufacturing exp preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be detail-oriented and pay close attention to accuracy.
• Professional communication skills and ability to work with co-workers on multiple shifts.
• Must be able to do simple math and read calipers/micrometers.

Responsibilities

• Clocks into jobs in the ERP system.
• Reads calipers, micrometers, straight edges, radius gauges and protractors.
• Understands flatness, straightness and angles in forming parts.
• Uses Form Tooling/Templates to determine shapes of parts.
• Uses check fixtures for parts.
• Wears required PPE and keeps workspace clean and organized.
