Job summary

Owens Corning Foundation in New Jersey seeks a skilled maintenance technician to ensure continuous operation of production equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance on engines, motors, conveyors, and other machinery, troubleshoot issues, and work from engineering specifications to minimize downtime.

The role requires reading blueprints and P&ID drawings, familiarity with PLCs and drive systems, and the ability to work nights, weekends, and a 12-hour shift when needed.

Qualifications

• Technical degree preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and P&ID drawings.
• Ability to maintain precision measurements.
• Basic computer skills and English literacy.

Responsibilities

• Ensure operation of machinery by completing preventive maintenance per manuals and specs.
• Locate problems using observation and measuring instruments.
• Remove defective parts with hoists and hand tools.
• Inspect parts with calipers and micrometers to check dimensions.
• Adjust devices using hand tools and levels.
• Support downtime reduction by following maintenance procedures.
• Fabricate repair parts as needed.
• Maintain inventories by checking stock and expediting orders.
• Document actions and communicate issues to teams.
• Maintain safe working environment and comply with PPE.
