Electric Motor & Contracting Co., Inc. in Chesapeake, VA seeks a meticulous Machine Shop Inspector to join our large motor shop. The role focuses on independent peer inspections, verifying drawings, and creating basic component sketches.

We offer a clean, air-conditioned facility, competitive pay based on experience, and growth opportunities. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, work OT, weekends, and maintain dependable attendance.

Qualifications

• Experience using mechanical measurement tools (micrometers, scales, vernier/dial calipers, etc.).
• Ability to read, interpret, and work from drawings, blueprints, and sketches.
• Ability to create basic hand drawings of components.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be physically able to safely operate equipment, lift up to 50 pounds, and stand/kneel for long periods.
• Must be able to work overtime, weekends/holidays, for 24/7/265 service.
• Must be a good communicator and follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsabilités

• Responsible for independent peer inspections.
• Verify as-found component drawings for manufacturing.
• Create minor sketch drawings of components, such as bushings, sleeves, and shaft keys.
• Accurately complete required paperwork.
• Perform various tasks for the machine shop when not carrying out inspections.
