Job summary

PeopleShare by PROMAN is seeking a skilled machine shop professional for a full-time role in Chesapeake, VA. You will manufacture and repair components to exact specs, operating mills, lathes, boring mills and grinders, and you will manage inspection paperwork.

The position requires at least five years of experience, the ability to hold tight tolerances (0.0005–0.001 in), and a commitment to safety in a clean, air-conditioned shop.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of experience operating milling machines, lathes, boring mills, and grinders.
• Ability to work within close tolerances of 0.0005–0.001 inches and meet allotted timeframes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to safely operate equipment, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and stand, stoop, or kneel for extended periods.
• Availability for overtime as needed, including extended hours, weekends, and holidays, to support a 24/7/365 service operation.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture and repair components according to instructions and engineering drawings.
• Operate machine shop equipment, including milling machines, lathes, boring mills, and grinders.
• Operate overhead cranes and perform rigging.
• Perform incoming and outgoing inspections.
• Complete required paperwork accurately.
