Job summary

Marquardt U.S. in Cazenovia, NY seeks a Mechanical Assembly Technician for our Industrial Engineering group. You will assemble, install, and set up custom machines, reading drawings and electrical schematics, wiring components, and performing basic machining tasks to support manufacturing.

The role requires hands-on mechanical skills, ability to interpret technical docs, and comfort with toolroom equipment. Travel is domestic 10–20% for installations.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly is required.
• Automation experience is a plus, but strong mechanical background suffices.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics, and technical docs.
• Familiarity with machining equipment and tools such as mills and grinders.
• Basic electrical assembly knowledge preferred but not required.
• Basic computer skills and CAM software learning ability.

Responsibilities

• Reading and interpreting assembly drawings and 3D models.
• Assembling mechanical devices and machined components.
• Reading and interpreting electrical drawings.
• Assembly and wiring of electrical devices and connections.
• Use of hand tools and measuring equipment.
• Basic troubleshooting and use of a multimeter.
• Operate toolroom machines (drills, mills, lathes, grinders).
• Machining basic parts from drawings.
• Design and develop basic holding fixtures and setups.
• Develop basic end effectors, carts, and simple projects.
• Perform tool room work promptly.
• Serve as technical resource to production coordinators and others.
