Job summary

Mazak Corporation is seeking a Mechanical Assembler to join the Assembly team. The role involves installing mechanical and electrical components on Mazak machine tools and interpreting assembly drawings to ensure accurate builds.

You will verify parts are delivered to the assembly area, align sheet metal components, install electricals, inspect finished units for quality, and operate a crane and a walk-behind forklift. Safety and accuracy are essential, with training provided as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with machine tools is preferred.
• Ability to read assembly drawings and interpret specifications.
• Proficient with hand and power tools.
• Crane and forklift training are favorable.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Install mechanical and electrical components on Mazak machine tools.
• Read and interpret assembly drawings for new machines and components.
• Ensure all parts are delivered to the assembly location.
• Align, adjust and modify sheet metal components for proper fit.
• Install electrical components for specific machines.
• Inspect machines for welds, grinder marks, paint defects and notify supervisor of issues.
• Operate crane to lift heavy items and use walk-behind forklift.
• Use hand and power tools during assembly.
• Fill out check sheets and maintain a clean work environment.
• Assist in training new employees as needed.
