Job description

Precision Mechanical Assembly Technician

Step onto the production floor and begin your shift at a dedicated assembly station. With clear work instructions in hand, you’ll bring together fabricated components, using the right hand and power tools to build units exactly to product specifications. As builds move forward, you’ll verify performance by testing and calibrating parts and mechanisms, ensuring every measurement aligns with required tolerances. If something falls outside spec, you’ll trace the issue and make the necessary repairs to return the unit to compliance-then document the result and move to the next.

What you’ll do
  • Assemble fabricated parts at floor stations following defined instructions and standardized procedures.
  • Use appropriate hand and power tools to build units to product specifications.
  • Test and calibrate mechanisms so they meet tolerance requirements and quality standards.
  • Identify nonconforming units and perform repairs as needed to meet specifications.
  • Rely on established guidelines; work under close supervision and report to a supervisor or manager.
What you bring
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience; an apprenticeship or formal training in the specialty may be required.
  • Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in assembly or a related field.
  • Proficiency in machine building/assembling and comfort using common shop tools.
Work environment and physical factors
  • Typical lifting up to 30 lbs without significant repetition.
  • Moderate exposure to machinery and to chemical, biological, and physical risks.
  • Operation of a powered industrial truck may be involved and is considered at least Industrial, potentially Heavy depending on other exposures.

You’ll thrive here if you enjoy structured work, clear expectations, and hands-on craftsmanship that turns parts into finished, high-quality products.
