Aerotek in Erie, PA is seeking a Mechanical Assembler to build high-quality mechanical products. You will interpret drawings, work instructions, and parts lists to assemble components using a range of hand tools, air tools and small power tools, while ensuring parts meet tolerances and customer specifications.

The role involves visual inspection, testing, and movement of parts with overhead cranes or forklifts, with a focus on accuracy and safety in a fully onsite environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with operating both an overhead crane and a forklift.
• Blueprint reading experience.
• Mechanical skills and previous assembly experience is a plus.
• Strong tenure with long job stints.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings, work instructions, and parts lists to assemble components.
• Position, align, fasten, and assemble parts using hand tools, air tools, and small power tools.
• Perform drilling, press assembly, burnishing, washing, soldering, or encapsulation depending on product line.
• Visually inspect and test finished units to meet tolerances and customer specs.
• Use micrometers, calipers, and verniers to verify tolerances.
• Pull parts, load components onto the line, and place finished units into bins or boxes.
• Load and unload trucks.
• Use an overhead crane and/or forklift to move parts.
