Job summary

Construction Material Testing in New Jersey seeks a Laboratory Technician to turn field samples into data under an AASHTO R18 quality system. You will perform Proctor curves, sieve analyses, Atterberg limits, moisture contents, and strength tests.

This on-site role requires careful documentation, calibration upkeep, logging samples, breaking cylinders, and reporting results the same day. Training is provided; prior lab experience is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• Careful hands, clean documentation habits, mechanical aptitude.
• Prior lab or CMT experience a plus, not required — we train.
• Comfortable with repetitive precision work done right every time.

Responsibilities

• Perform ASTM testing (D698, D1557, D2216, D4318, C136, C39).
• Maintain calibration, standardization, and quality records.
• Log samples and preserve chain of custody.
• Break cylinders and report strength results same day.
• Support proficiency sample programs and accreditation assessments.
