Job summary

Birk Manufacturing Inc. is seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Technician to operate a range of production processes, from soldering and welding to trimming, inspection and testing.

You will follow blueprints and work instructions, assemble from base panels to finished products, and help move assemblies through the line. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, basic math, and good English reading skills.

Qualifications

• . Read and understand specifications and customer prints.
• . Proficient in soldering, resistance welding, punching, potting, trimming, inspection, testing, measuring.
• . Able to interpret build instructions and follow procedure manuals.

Responsibilities

• Interpret specifications and build the product with limited assistance.
• Read and understand all written work instructions (bluebird).
• Verify kitted raw materials (quantity and proper items).
• Learn and execute all required steps of the build process including soldering, resistance welding, punching, potting, trimming, inspection, testing, measuring, wire stripping, cutting, laminating, bonding, baking, crimping, etc.
• Maintain proper identification / labeling of parts through all process steps.
• Work cooperatively with all internal departments while taking a product from base panel to completion.
• Follow all company policies and all safety guidelines.
• Determine the difference of a good/bad heater, circuit, and wire wound panel.
• Inspect his or her own work to make sure it is acceptable to the requirements and description of the product.
• Average eyesight is necessary.
• Clean raw materials and finished parts using cleaning solutions (such as Isopropyl Alcohol and/or water), air hoses, and cloths.
• Prepare PSA (pressure sensitive adhesive) application and the bladder press for PSA.
• The AMT will be responsible for confirming the correct PSA is used in a build and verify shelf life of that PSA prior to installation.
• Tape heaters on boards for potting/conformal coating.
• Cover leads-potting, conformal coating, under cover with patches, or doghouse.
• String heaters and terminate leads with copper crimps.
• Operate Spartanics and die clicker machines.
