Job summary

OTC Industrial Technologies seeks a Manual Machinist to set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts. The role is on-site at Metropolis, IL, with real ID required for the position. The pay starts at $30+ per hour, depending on experience.

You will fabricate, install and maintain shop machinery and ensure parts meet specifications using precision instruments. A high school diploma or GED is required, with a technical diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical diploma preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of manual machining experience.
• Experience using precision measuring tools and equipment.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals and perform preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, erect, install, and maintain shop machinery.
• Calculate dimensions and tolerances using math and precision tools.
• Align and secure fixtures, cutting tools, machines and materials.
• Monitor feed and speed of machines during machining.
• Machine parts to specifications using lathes, milling machines, shapers or grinders.
• Measure, examine and test completed units to detect defects.
• Set controls to regulate machining or input/edit CNC media.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on shop equipment.
