Job summary

1 Resource Group seeks a skilled Manual Machinist for our client's machine shop in Vidor, TX. The role requires operating conventional tooling, precision machining, welding, and metalizing with a strong mechanical aptitude and attention to safety.

Responsibilities include milling and lathe work, tool setup, and safety compliance. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. Salary is $25.00–$32.00 per hour, DOE.

Qualifications

• High School diploma plus trade/vocational training or equivalent.
• Laser alignment and field balancing ability preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Observe safety procedures and wear proper protective gear.
• Record data to produce expected service and design results.
• Use measuring devices to assure proper sizing.
• Perform milling operations including drilling, tapping, boring, and lathe work.
• Execute metalizing and spray welding as needed.
• Understand materials and applications as required.
• Set up tool-post grinding, broaching, and Babbitt bearing work.
• Operate hand-held and stationary tools (saws, grinders, files).
• Lift and secure heavy objects while maintaining safety.
• Assist other machinists and shop departments as directed.
• Perform other duties as directed by supervision.
