Job summary

Triosim Corporation in North Carolina seeks an experienced Manual Lathe Machinist to set up and operate manual engine, turret, and large-lathe machinery, producing precision components from drawings. You will handle feeds, speeds, tooling, perform inspections, remanufacture pumps and shafts, and maintain a safe, clean shop.

A strong background in reading blueprints, GD&T, and tight tolerances is required, with hands-on machining across varied materials.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Proficient with GD&T and tolerance analysis.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong shop mathematics (fractions, decimals, trig).

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual engine, turret, and large-latitude lathes to perform turning, facing, boring, threading, drilling, knurling, and grooving operations.
• Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work orders, and GD&T.
• Select appropriate tooling, feeds, speeds, and cutting fluids for machining ferrous and non‑ferrous materials.
• Machine components to close tolerances, typically within ±0.001".
• Perform in‑process and final inspection using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, bore gauges, and depth gauges; document results as required.
• Remanufacture and repair industrial pumps, and related components to restore them to specification.
• Deburr, finish, and prepare parts for subsequent operations or shipment.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Collaborate with supervisors, quality personnel, and other trades to meet production and quality objectives.
